Spammers better look elsewhere!
We really shouldn't have to say this because it's a bit of a no-brainer:
Mailigen follows a zero tolerance spam policy and prohibits users from sending unsolicited commercial emails in any form while using the Service. Mailigen was designed to give legitimate marketers an alternative to sending unsolicited emails.
If you use our service to spam, we will terminate your Mailigen account IMMEDIATELY.
What's more, we won't refund any monies you may have paid.
Please report any suspected senders or email abuses to an email address: abuse (at) mailigen.com, ISPs and Blacklists Administrators may also contact us at the same abuse email address. Please forward the complete email in question, including headers.
This question can generate any number of definitions depending on who you ask, but in general terms spam is any email which has been sent to someone without his or her permission. You need to have his or her permission to send out email. Here at Mailigen, we generally refer clients asking for a technical definition of spam to Spamhaus: An electronic message is "spam" if (A) the recipient's personal identity and context are irrelevant because the message is equally applicable to many other potential recipients; AND (B) the recipient has not verifiably granted deliberate, explicit, and still-revocable permission for it to be sent.
E-mail senders like Mailigen prefer to use the textbook definition. Because our business depends on the ability to secure white-listed status with internet service providers, we take the issue of spam very seriously indeed.
These things are a definite NO with Mailigen!
If there's something you want to do but don't know if we would consider it to be spam then please Contact us. We're here to help!
1. Postal Address
The Customer must provide their true and accurate postal address that will be included in each message footer. The Customer is required to maintain and promptly update this data to ensure it is current, complete and accurate. Mailigen actively monitors all outgoing messages to verify that proper sender's information is included in the message content.
2. Removals
Every email, whether text or HTML, contains a mandatory unsubscribe/opt-out link at the bottom of the message, which automatically updates your subscriber lists to avoid the chance of sending unwanted emails to visitors who have unsubscribed. This unsubscribe link cannot be removed.
The Customer is not allowed to send messages to any individual that had been added to the mailing list, but later unsubscribed from it. Mailigen automatically handles all unsubscribe requests on Customer's behalf.
3. Review
A member of our staff reviews each message sent to more than 3,000 recipients and either will approve or reject it. This threshold is smaller for clients that have been with us less than two months.
4. Subscriber handling
We maintain the IP address and date subscribed for every new subscriber.
5. Double-opt in tools
We offer the tools necessary for our customers to create a true double-optin list.
6. List import
All large list imports will be verified and tracked by our team. This is for preventing 3rd party email addresses.
Prior importing any email list, make sure you don't have non-specific addresses such as: sales@domain.com, business@domain.com, webmaster@domain.com, info@domain.com, or other general addresses in the list.
7. Monitoring
All email sending activity is being monitored by our experienced team and if we discover that you are sending emails to people without their permissions, we will terminate your account immediately without any notice.
8. From and reply-to verification
We verify that all from addresses are fully legitimate so that spoofing cannot occur.
If we find out that you're spamming using your Mailigen account then you can expect all or some of the following to occur.
Without doubt:
Things that might happen:
Please be advised that we reserve the right to suspend your account and start investigating your activity if your campaigns have a high percentage of abuse complaints (more than 0.1%), unsubscribe rate (more than 2%), bounce rate (more than 5%), or a low open rate (less than 10%). We might ask you to prove that you have permission from your recipients, and we can close your account if you are unable to provide such proof.
Mailigen is intended for businesses and organizations that have an established list of permission-based opt-in email addresses. We provide our product only to those who follow our no tolerance, anti-spam policy.
